A month or so and we are well into the new growing season at Greengage Community Garden and we have continued to plant out our hedge with new saplings to fill any gaps, create 6 new mini raised beds, weed and tidy our veggie beds and start sowing for the coming season....leeks, cabbage, allyssum, lobelia and lots are almost ready...and lots more have been sown.
Broad beans are doing well and right across the board, germination rates so far have been excellent!
We would love to show you all this and we open Tuesday from 12 and Friday all day....please come and see what we do.
We are planning to create more hanging baskets and containers this year along with more herbs and cut flowers.
We already have events in our calendar and on the 13th April will be supporting the library open day. We will be attending picnic in the park at Herston in May and there will be our open days and plenty of other things to keep us busy!! We have just been asked to create the hospital hanging baskets, attending their summer fete, helping at Carnival and there will be lots more as the summer progresses!
We believe that Greengage is a special place..we have a group of lovely, friendly people and we have lots of fun..and we grow plants!.
What could be better!
Please come and visit. You will be very welcome.
Best wishes
Bob Walters
